The author of the anthem of the Kazakh SSR is 111 years old
Today marks the birthday of the first Kazakh classical composer Mukan Tulebaev, Kazpravda.kz reports.
Mukan Tulebaev (real name - Muhammedsalim) - Soviet, Kazakh composer, conductor, teacher, public figure. People's Artist of the USSR.
Born on February 28 (March 13), 1913 in the Karashigan tract (now in the Sarkand district, Almaty region).
In 1938-1941 he studied at the Kazakh Opera Studio at the Moscow Conservatory.
At the beginning of the war he was in the ranks of the people's militia in Moscow; in the fall of 1941, for health reasons, he returned to Alma-Ata.
In 1942-1944 - conductor of the Kazakh State Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Kurmangazy.
Together with E. Brusilovsky and L. Hamidi, he wrote the music of the National Anthem of the Kazakh SSR (1945-1992) and the anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1992-2006).
Since 1953, he conducted teaching activities at the Kazakh Conservatory.
Since 1942 - member of the Union of Composers of the Kazakh SSR, since 1948 - member of the board, from 1956 to 1960 - chairman of the board. Member of the board of the Union of Composers of the USSR.
Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of the 4th-5th convocations.
