Sklyar answered the question about the readiness of Almaty for an earthquake
First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, during parliamentary hearings in the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, responded to the deputies' concerns about Almaty's readiness for an earthquake, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports .
Roman Sklyar recalled that the Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture operates in Kazakhstan.
“This is the only institute that has historically been working on the issue of designing buildings in a seismic zone. According to their expertise, those objects that we have built in accordance with building codes. I believe that there are no grounds for concern now,” Sklyar said.
According to him, the authorized bodies deal with these issues.
“Relevant officials are engaged in this and are responsible for their work, signing the relevant documents,” the First Deputy Prime Minister replied.
