Mikhail Shaidorov was met at Astana airport.

The athletes were greeted by fans, family, and members of the sports community. Mikhail Shaidorov, Sofya Samodelkina, and the head coach of the Kazakhstan figure skating team, Asem Kassanova, were congratulated by Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Deputy Mayor of Astana Yerik Meirkhan, President of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union Bauyrzhan Yeraly, and President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin.

\\\"Today we have heroes. First and foremost, we must express our gratitude to the coaches and families who raised these champions. Kazakhstan deserves this gold in figure skating. Be proud – these are our new heroes,\\\" noted Gennady Golovkin.

On behalf of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union, with the support of a sponsor, Mikhail Shaidorov and his coach, Alexei Urmanov, were presented with keys to three-room apartments, while Sofia Samodelkina and Asem Kasanova were presented with keys to one-room apartments.

\\\"We welcomed our Olympic champion, Mikhail Shaidorov, back to his homeland. He achieved a historic victory—32 years later, the Kazakh anthem was played at the Olympics. Sofia Samodelkina was among the top ten skaters. I thank the athletes\\\' parents, the coaching staff, and everyone who supported them along the way,\\\" said Bauyrzhan Yeraly, President of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union.

The Olympic champion also thanked all the fans who supported him on his way to victory.
