How the Ministry of Digital Development is preparing Kazakhstanis for the transition to a single time zone
The ICRIAP is taking measures to prevent cases of double write-off of the monthly tariff payment, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the ICRIAP
On the night of February 29 to March 1, 2024, Kazakhstan switches to a single time zone with an hour shift back in all regions except Mangistau, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe and Kyzylorda regions.
As the ministry said, international organizations IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Administration) ITU, RCC, ICANN, IETF, IESG were notified about this, as well as about the need to update data in the public time zone database for Kazakhstan. In this regard, subscribers need to update the released updates with international operating systems, including Android and IOS.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Digital Development, telecom operators are preparing the necessary settings for their information systems. Also, mobile operators must notify subscribers about this in advance through their service channels.
Currently, the technical infrastructure is being prepared to ensure the stability of the services provided and communication services, including the Internet, as well as to prevent cases of double debiting of the monthly tariff payment.
