Otbasy Bank will remain a second-tier bank
Head of Government Alikhan Smailov told reporters on the sidelines of the Senate that the status of the bank will not change, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
Yesterday, the Majilismen announced that Otbasy Bank would be withdrawn from the system of second-tier banks. At the same time, during the plenary meeting, Chairman of the Board Lyazzat Ibragimova stated that Otbasy Bank will remain a second-tier bank. Today, on the sidelines of a Senate meeting, journalists found out the government’s position on this issue.
“The regulation of Otbasy Bank will not be reduced or changed due to the fact that Otbasy Bank is gaining new functions. “Otbasy Bank” was and remains a second-tier bank, was and remains under the regulation of the ARRDF and the National Bank. In this sense, the status of “Otbasy Bank” does not change, it is only being added the functions of maintaining a register of people on the waiting list who need housing,” said Prime Minister Smailov.
